For most people, the purchase and sale of their home is the most significant financial transaction they are ever involved in. Yet many go through the process with no independent objective advice or expertise upon which they can rely.
Real estate agents are motivated to close the sale, and earn their commission. Alerting buyers or sellers to potential problems in the deal may threaten the closing, and their commissions. Mortgage lenders and their attorneys are interested only in the security of their mortgage, and are not looking out for the buyer or seller.
